Painting the Figure in Oils

9:00 AM  –  12:30 PM

This two day, three session, workshop led by artist/instructor Jerrod Partridge will introduce students to both direct and indirect processes of oil painting.  Students will paint a model from life, focusing on capturing color, form, and light. Jerrod is a 2004 graduate of the New York Academy of Art, and his work will be included in the upcoming Mississippi Invitational at the Museum.

5pm-8pm

Sunday, Jan. 15
1pm - 4pm

Students should bring these materials

  • palette
  • palette knife
  • brushes of your preference
  • odorless mineral spirits
  • paper towels
  • sketchbook and pen/pencil
  • all oil colors in your possession
  • two Canvases or panels between 9"x12" - 16"x20", primed with white gesso or paint

No refunds within 30 days of class start date.   Museum reserves right to cancel class 10 days prior if minimum student registration is not met.  In the event of cancellation, tuition will be fully refunded.
